2025 UKG Ready: Timekeeper and Approver Certification Module (Updated)

Challenge:
Updating the course meant working against the clock in a different way than usual. The audience had already been trained on the system, but the go live was pushed, so the biggest challenge wasn't reteaching, it was undoing what had already been taught. To ensure payroll accuracy and system compliance during a citywide rollout of UKG Ready, over 500 timekeepers and approvers needed to be trained and certified before being granted system access. Without structured onboarding, errors in time management could jeopardize employee pay and disrupt operations.

Solution:
I recreated and expanded the training into four self paced certification modules in Articulate Rise, guiding timekeepers and approvers through every critical task from logging time to managing approvals. The work required more than rebranding the content, it required reteaching the course to reflect the go live changes, which is why one course became four. Each module included interactive walkthroughs, compliance checkpoints, and a scored assessment that users had to pass to unlock UKG system access. Teams sessions and supplemental job aids provided additional support.

Outcome:
Reteach the new system to an audience that had already learned an outdated version, without confusing or losing their trust in the process
Certified 500+ timekeepers and approvers, including staff new to their roles and C suite management, ahead of and through go live
Contributed to 87% payroll processing accuracy within the first three weeks
Created a repeatable, scalable certification model now used for all new hires in timekeeping roles.

UKG Ready: Employee Training (Original Storyline Build)

Type: Video Sample. The original course build, later expanded and rebuilt into 5 Rise 360 courses as the project's scope grew.

Challenge: Employees needed to understand how to use UKG Ready for basic timekeeping, including a specific point of confusion: the difference between a Change Request and a Change Assignment, two similarly named but functionally different tools that could easily be used incorrectly if not clearly distinguished.

Solution: I built this course from the ground up in Articulate Storyline, using live system walkthroughs to show real navigation (like changing a cost center through the Change Assignment tool) alongside clear conceptual slides breaking down when to use a Change Request versus a Change Assignment. This was the first version of the training, and it became the foundation for what eventually grew into 5 separate Rise 360 courses covering the full scope of employee UKG Ready usage.

Outcome: Delivered a clear, functional first course under time pressure, and established the instructional foundation, structure, and approach that scaled into a 5-course Rise 360 employee training series as the project's needs expanded.

Manage Expense Delegations: Oracle Fusion Training

Type: Video Sample. Walkthrough demonstrating live system training built for a Baltimore City Public Schools Oracle Fusion rollout.

Challenge: Employees needed to understand how to manage expense delegations, permissions that let one employee act on another's behalf for travel and expense reporting, within a new Oracle Fusion system employees were still learning. Getting delegation permissions wrong could mean the wrong person submitting or approving expenses, so the training needed to be precise, not just clear.

Solution: I built a live system walkthrough showing exactly how to navigate to Delegates and Permissions, add or manage a delegate, and confirm the change saved correctly, paired with the surrounding expense and travel functionality employees would need day to day.

Outcome: Gave employees a direct, visual reference for a permissions process that's easy to get wrong if explained only in writing, part of the broader Oracle Fusion training effort that contributed to reducing errors during the expense and procurement rollout.

Edvance College: Brightspace Course Walkthrough

Type: Video Sample. A walkthrough of course design and structure built for Edvance College during its early stage development.

Challenge: As an early stage school working toward accreditation, Edvance needed complete, well-structured courses built in Brightspace from the ground up, for technical and early childhood education learners with a wide range of starting skill levels, and no existing system or precedent to build from.

Solution: I designed and built full learning paths in Brightspace, structuring content week by week with clear objectives, discussion prompts, readings, and assignments, balancing asynchronous and live components so learners could progress at a workable pace without losing structure or accountability.

Outcome: Delivered complete, functioning courses that supported a 96% pass rate among technical learners and a 25% increase in learner engagement through the structure and multimedia built into the design.
